Amy Winehouse Biography.

(London, 1983-2011) Controversial British songwriter and soul singer, one of the great revelations of recent years. Endowed with prodigious vocal qualities that led to a dizzying success, in February 2008 swept the Grammy awards to get five of the six awards to those who chose the second album of hers career, Black to black, one of the best albums of the decade.

Hers parents, Mitch and Janis, were a pair of lower middle class amateur to soul and jazz. They soon discovered that they had no authority to temper the demoniac character of his daughter, a rebellious girl who demanded constant attention. The only person who seemed to have some influence over the child was his paternal grandmother, Cynthia, charismatic woman who trumpeter Ronnie Scott was in love for years.
Suburb of Southgate, Amy went to live in East Finchley when hers parents divorced amicably in 1993. On the recommendation of the grandmother Cynthia, who was called Nan, Amy enrolled at the school Susi Earnshaw Theatre in Barnet. Although body language was good at, and that augured future as a dancer, head Amy had one obsession: to succeed as a singer.
Already ten years she tried to form a rap duo-style Salt’n’Pepa which subsequently would not feel precisely proud. In 1995 he enrolled in school theater Sylvia Young, which was expelled the following year by getting a nose piercing. However, Amy’s obstinacy made her an intuitive singer who gained experience on stage serving as lead singer of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
At sixteen her then-boyfriend, fellow singer Tyler James, sent the manager Nick Godwyn a model of the young promise. Godwyn invited to audition, and when he saw her knew he had gold in their hands. “It was amazing. He knew the old school and hip-hop. It was plump, had strength and unique style.” A style that should be added, knew garnish with his cockney cockney accent, flashy tattoos and a provocative way to get to the public.
Under the tutelage of hers new manager, Amy Winehouse traveled to Miami to meet producer Salaam Remi, an authority of rhythm and blues who had worked with the Fugees and Lisa Lopes, among others. He was immediately hired by the record company Island and invited by Remi recording in his studio. Amy’s talent allowed him to finish his debut in record time, since almost never out of tune and keeping time accurately, so it was not necessary to do many takes for each topic.
Frank (titled in honor of Sinatra) was the first album Winehouse.

Appeared in 2003, she was a remarkable success: platinum, was nominated for the Mercury Music Awards and won an Ivor Novello Award in 2004 thanks to single Stronger than me. With the money, the first thing he did was buy an apartment in the neighborhood he liked, the Camden. What could a twenty years with economic resources, an incipient tendency to excesses and a house for herself in one of the most bohemian neighborhoods of the City? So far, he kept a suspicious simultaneity between her old boyfriend Tyler, a close friend of brittle personality named Chris and a dark companion of parties that soon became the love of his life: Blake Fielder-Civil.
Many say it was Pete Doherty, lead singer of The Libertines and partner Kate Moss, who served as cicerone nefarious young for the most dangerous local Camden. In those years Amy had free access to drugs and alcohol. He shared a flat with her first boyfriend, but she was taking over a growing fascination with problematic Blake, with whom he began an affair. “I need to have trouble feeling my creative force,” said Amy about it.
Alternating periods of anorexia and bulimia, drinking every night and going nonstop, Amy seemed to feed on their own misfortune to get ahead. still being her manager, Nick Godwyn warned parents of the singer of the danger if not away from his untidy way of life. Amy’s response was a violent refusal to accept help.
In January 2007 she appeared completely drunk on the stage of the G-A-Y Party and vomited the end of the first subject.

In May of that same year she married Blake in Miami and in November won the Artist Choice Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards. This success did not seem to arouse the enthusiasm of the singer, whose only word to those attending the gala was a brief “thank you”. Bono silence during a press conference, ask 47 bottles of whiskey performance and ensure quietly to the press that “I suffer continuous eating disorders” were the typical behavior of a diva in flames. The Blake imprisonment for assault and contempt of authority not make things easier.
The year 2008 seemed to start well for Amy. Grammy ceremony was a new walkover of London, who, however, was unable to attend the gala live because he was denied a visa. Amy took five of the six awards he was nominated: best pop vocal album, best female vocal performance, best new artist, best song of the year (Rehab) and best album. But in July had to be admitted to a hospital, said that because of a pulmonary emphysema, a disease that would end the career of any singer.

Although hers father denied such news, photographs taken by journalists on leaving the center showed a completely faded Amy.
In the summer concerts Rock In Rio show traveling public could see a dramatically diminished Amy in her vocal powers. Static on stage, detuning and staring (if not completely drink, as happened in the Portuguese scale), completed as she could their annual commitments, after canceling concerts by his agency had to pay large amounts in compensation . Just turned twenty-five years, it was said that Britain was immersed in the composition of which would be hers third album. In interviews claimed to feel excited for the upcoming release of her husband, with whom she hoped “to have five children.”
But neither the third album nor children had never arrived.

The relationship with Blake deteriorated; Amy Winehouse introduced in 2009 for a divorce and went rolling down the slope of alcohol and drugs, starring in a scandal after another. In June 2009 he was tried for assaulting a fan; in August 2010, his behavior in an act of inauguration officiated by the King of the Zulus was shameful; to this must be added the occasions, a victim of the paparazzi, appeared in the press photos of themselves intoxicated. Already in 2011, a month before his death, she appeared completely drugged a concert in Belgrade, starring in an embarrassing spectacle that forced the cancellation of the rest of the functions. On July 23, 2011 was found dead in his apartment in the London Borough of Camden. Like other music legends (Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin), she was 27 years old.
